Grand Rapids, Michigan – The Michigan Car Insurance agency was wondering how people can question whether NASCAR Drivers are real athletes. We see a Driver like Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch win or compete aggressively in so many NASCAR races. There is a tremendous amount of endurance that is required for these NASCAR races. Mark Martin has been in a NASCAR automobile for so many years and it is only because he continues to train and take care of himself. Martin is still a force in any race car.
Now the Michigan Car Insurance Company saw Kyle Busch on Sunday getting his 23rd victory in the Sprint Cup series. This win put Kyle Busch at the same amount of Sprint Cup victories as his older brother Kurt Busch, who still competes. Kurt Busch had claimed the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Championship back in 2004. That was the year that NASCAR used the “Chase for the Cup” points arrangement. Kurt Busch made the Family name count that year as he finished just eight points in front of Jimmie Johnson, who is now a 5 Time Champion. Kyle Busch earned a position in the 2011 Chase for that NASCAR Sprint Cup with his win in Michigan.
Well Kyle Busch is on track to try and win his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship. The Michigan Car Insurance agency watched as Kyle Busch won the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series on November 21, 2009 at our Michigan racetrack, the Homestead-Miami Speedway. Kyle Busch was that 2009 Nationwide season champion as he narrowly beat out one of the Michigan Car Insurance Company favorite drivers, Carl Edwards. That Homestead-Miami Speedway is a terrific track near the Florida Car Insurance Company.
The Sunday race victory in Brooklyn, Michigan, at the Michigan International Speedway, has cemented Kyle Busch as the current NASCAR Sprint Cup points leader. We see Jimmie Johnson was close behind Busch in the race and now Jimmie Johnson is second in points this season also. Now Kyle Busch could be the NASCAR Driver to knock Jimmie Johnson down as Johnson has won an unprecedented five straight Championships. The season is not over yet but it would be a bitter pill to swallow for Jimmie Johnson if he loses his NASCAR Sprint Cup Title to a Busch. The Michigan Car Insurance Company sites that there is some bad blood between Jimmie Johnson and the Busch Brothers.
Michigan International Speedway
There was an underlying storyline at this Michigan International Speedway race. Jimmie Johnson was racing in an American Car, driving his No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet car. Obviously, with Detroit, the Motor City nearby, Johnson wanted to take a victory. Jimmie Johnson has never won a NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway. Kyle Busch was sitting in a Toyota for this Michigan NASCAR race.
This was not the day for Johnson as Kyle Busch exploded by .568 seconds to earn this NASCAR victory. The Michigan Car Insurance agency saw Kyle Busch get by Johnson with only a few laps remaining. Then luck was Kyle Busch’s side as there was a yellow flag. However Busch managed to overcome a sudden move by Johnson after the restart and Kyle Busch was long gone for the checkered flag. This was Kyle Busch’s first Sprint Cup win at the Michigan International Speedway.
